Multiplayer not working

Postby rotorboy on Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:14 pm

The wife and I have brand new iPhones and almost immediately downloaded ifishing lite. The single player gaming is alot of fun and we'd likely buy the full version but we are unable to use the Multiplayer mode.

Either of use can host a game, but the server list is always blank; i.e. the other's hosted game is not displaying.

Of course we are trying this at home, on our local Wi-Fi, as instructed.

Other Wi-Fi related apps are working fine, like Remote and FileShare but iFishing doesn't seem to work in Multiplayer mode.

I'd like to say I tried more troubleshooting but, aside from these forums, there seems to be little in the way of support for this game.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Make sure wifi is turned on for both phones. It will not work over 3g or edge.
2. Make sure you have the same version of the game on both phones. Different versions will not connect with each other.

We both have the same version. We actually purchased the full version hoping it would solve the problem... which it did not.

We both rebooted our phones after install.

The wifi is open to both. We are both regularly on the wifi when at home. We can use other apps over wifi, like file sharing, with no problems. Additionally, we both have Apple Remote for iPhone, and subsequently both can control our iTunes, over wifi, on both our machines.

Still, iFishing doesn't display any Hosts in the list when the other is hosting a game.

Our plan is to get to a coffee shop with free wifi and both try it there. If it doesn't work, then I'll be quite certain it isn't a blocked port or something like that at home. If it does work, then at least I'll know it's something to do with the router.

If you've got other suggestions... REAL suggestions (not like the two you initially replied with), then I'd like to hear them.
